Karen Jordan The Haven 2003 Ilfochrome print, Edition of 25
30 x 20 inches
Over the last decade-and-a-half, KAREN JORDAN has developed a unique approach to the photographic medium as an art form. Her photographs have been described as cutting-edge, "media-ambiguous" imagery. The dramatic, large-scale, elegant abstract landscapes - often waterscapes - often appear to have been painted, rather than photographed. Unmanipulated and uncropped, the images, like "The Haven," are exactly as they appeared in nature. One hundred percent of this image from Chesapeake Bay is water.
