This piece, as with all my work of the past several years, was created by moving back and forth between my easel and Photoshop. At the easel, I work over the printed computer images by applying  pastel, Caran D'ache crayons, pen and ink ­ separately or in combination. The piece may move back and forth several times. There is, in every piece, some reference to the writings of Rumi, a 13th Century Persian mystic who has given me a way of experiencing the world with a minimum of preconceptions. I've also found reaching the age of 80 to be a liberating force.
