Tepper Takayama Fine Arts
From the series: Life in the Balance

This work is from the Life in the Balance series, Sinha’s study of the Uyghurs, one of China’s fifty-five nationalities. Historically, they have struggled to establish their identity within the fabric of communist China. Much of the elements of their identity as a people including their customs, their religion, language, and architecture as well their sources of income are subject to interests of the Chinese government. This body of work is an effort to record an ever changing and eroding people and culture.
