Atmospheric scientist, Dr. James Lovelock, first introduced the Gaia hypothesis to the scientific community in 1979.  He proposed that our planet has been transfigured from its early state by a complex living system that involves the interactions of Earth’s atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and geosphere.  The sum of these interactions constitutes a self-regulating feedback system that self-evolves, creating an optimal physical and chemical environment for life on this planet.

Therefore, in Gaia Inquiries, we find a scientist examining the life signs of earth.  Please note that this woman scientist has equipment...  (H.L.)
