Photography was an important tool in Dulah Llan Evans’ works.  She made many trips southwest to New Mexico from the years 1900 through 1905, photographing Native American subjects that would later be used as the basis for her paintings and prints.  "Indian Women Baking Bread" is an example of several of such photographs.  This image would later be used by Dulah to create her oil on canvas titled "Baking Bread for the Fiesta," circa 1906.
