Kimmy McCann Conclusion to a Happy Dream 2001 Mixed media, acrylic, spray paint and ink on hardboard and cardboard
48 x 36 inches
I integrate socio-identifiable materials such as cardboard, spray paint and ink (via, marker or Xerox copies) as part of a symbolic presentation. Outside my studio, located on Skid Row in downtown L.A, these materials are used for human shelter and gang territorial markings. I transform them into identifiable gender symbols that represent woman and man as human participants in the life experience. |
