Corinne Robbins Sea Foam #3 1995 Sign paint, polyester, wood
36 " diameter
About This Series:When I go to the sand beaches of Long Island and the New Jersey Shore, I observe the movement of the shapes that the seafoam produces on the ocean’s surf. Unlike the movements of clouds, the movement of seafoam is so breif that it easily goes unnoticed or even ignored. I use a camera to stop the motion of the surf when it is the most still, just as the wave has washed ashore, but not yet retreated. Each painting in this series is based on this moment. |
