Joyce Treiman
- Additional Information -

In a leapfrog of paintings and drawings from 1945 to 1990, this exhibition follows the artist's maverick style, her sensitivity and exceptional talent.  With iridescent strokes of color or a mix of pastel, charcoal, and pencil on vellum, Joyce Treiman delights us with unexpected pairings: "A  Joker and Monks," a Roman "Torso and Boxers," a Chicago "cowboy" (like herself) lost in the wild West.

Joyce Treiman died in 1991.  Direct, visceral, and sensuous, her paintings and drawings of the human figure remain vitally alive.
