Adelson Galleries is planning an exhibition of the lithographs of George Bellows from  the Harold and Bibi Rifkin Collection opening on Thursday, May 7, 1999. The content of the show is forty lithographs spanning the range of George Bellows' production in this medium. It includes the Boxing Series as well as subjects drawn from city life, his family, and sports. There will be a fully illustrated catalog available.

Dr. and Mrs. Harold Rifkin of New York City acquired an extraordinary collection of works by George Bellows and American Modernism over the past forty years. The collection is primarily works on paper with stellar examples by Milton Avery, Oscar Bluemner, Charles Burchfield, Preston Dickinson, Arthur Dove, John Marin, Alfred  Maurer, Georgia O'Keeffe, Joseph Stella, and others. This entire collection has been acquired by Adelson Galleries, New York in collaboration with Meredith Long & Co., Houston, and is on offer for sale at Adelson Galleries.
